New or Young Drivers
If you are a new driver, or a young driver, specific rules apply. This is true for anyone who reaches six or more points within two years of obtaining their first full driving licence.
If you reach six or more penalty points within two years of obtaining your first, full driving licence then your licence will be revoked.
This is NOT the same thing as "disqualification" because you are still able to regain your licence, and once you have done so, to drive again.
Take a look at this video of me explaining this in more detail.
What it does mean though is that your licence will be invalid and you will have to surrender it to the DVLA.
You will then have to pass the driving test again before you can apply for your licence to be restored.
When your licence is then returned to you it will show the six or more penalty points you have accumulated.
